Alright, imagine this: In WARCANA, you don’t just play an ordinary game, you are a freaking magician controlling armies and protecting your camp from the onslaught of opposition etc. It’s like a mix of strategy and fantasy, but with a twist: as far as gameplay is concerned, there is no better way of stating it other than the fact that you have to build your deck of cards that directs each and everything in the game from call of the beasts to calling spells. And trust me, it seems like when the waves of the enemy comes they overwhelm you within no time if you don’t have your cards and strategies well planned.
Well here is the fun part. Each week on WARCANA, it’s not a case of whether you can survive – you’ve choices. You can play a single player campaign that has more than 30 scenarios available for you to try, or if you don’t like playing with bots jump straight into Battle Royale which allows for 30 players to join. The catch And it is not one girl at a time. You actually compete with two girls per turn which makes every fight as hard as possible. But wait, such entertainment can be complemented by Horde mode to score some kill points, or even Stream Sniper mode where one can face streamers in several online fights. Still, it’s not only about the power. This is because besides having tech trees for each card, the game allows you to deeply think about strategies which are in the game. It takes your picking the right path where you will then have an army of monsters and spells under your command. Pick wrong and you’re just waiting for the clock for your base to be blown up. Also, with different devotions such as ‘Fay Caller’ or ‘Occultism’ which have different benefits and in game abilities, one can assemble some awesome multicolored decks which allow the battles to be never dull.
Thus, whether one is conjuring a mythological creature or sharing a cosmic abomination in Magic, Warcana is all about outmaneuvering and over powering the adversary. The question is: are you cut out for it — will you be the only one who survives?
