Happening right in the summer of 1984, “Before They Wake” initially drops you right into the middle of Alfred’s world, or at least what’s left of it: an old, rickety wheelchair. It wouldn’t be quite as dramatic, but Alfred is trapped in an asylum that is infested with mutants, and these things have a funny way of waking up from sounds. The kicker? Your wheelchair is the only means of transportation but the sound increases as you try to make use of it. The last could just be round the corner. Can you get Alfred out before it is too late?

This short, third-person horror game drops you directly into the VHS soaked world of St. Annes Town of the Gifted. Yes, you can see that they are impersonating the 80s, but it does not overshadow the ugly monsters emerging from the darkness. It is now upon you to free Alfred, and all this should be accomplished without using any noise. You have no time to spare, and every wheel that you have as a wheelchair could be your last.
