The darkness is pure evil. Some say it is the embodiment of human fear and nightmare. While others believe it is a swarm of cursed souls haunting us. Its origins are a mystery, but one thing is clear: light and fire are our only defenses.

Get ready to face wave of Nightmare. Thanks to ‘SwarmTech,’ the game can show over 70,000 enemies on screen at once. These legions of enemies emerge from the earth’s cracks to strengthen ‘The Veil,’ a living death fog that hides enemies and drains life from your troops. Lighting up a procedurally generated map is your key to reclaiming territory from this terror, but it’s not for the faint-hearted.

Drawing from the roguelite genre, the game introduces Malices—random afflictions that hit the player during every Death Night, disrupting even the best-laid plans. Survive a Death Night, and you get to choose from three randomly selected Blessings to give your army a crucial edge. Leading the charge against the Nightmares are powerful Heroes with unique abilities gained through leveling up. Features include ‘SwarmTech,’ allowing for massive swarms of over 70,000 AI units, and intense defenses during Death Nights. The game features day and night transitions where you expand by day and hunt by night. Unique Heroes can be leveled up and micromanaged for an edge against the dark.

The Living Death Fog system grows and recoils from light, while randomized Malices and Blessings keep every survival attempt unique. With a complex Skill Tree system, wandering Elite Nightmares, and various special Nightmare units like Spitters, Crushers, and Wraiths, your combat skills will be tested at every turn.
